Tiramisu Birthday Cake with Cattleya Orchid and Carnations
I made a BIG cattleya orchid and small carnations as decorations for this birthday cake. The flowers is not perfect yet!! Well, got to make more and practice more. Anyway the cake is quite a hassle to make. Why ??because..., first I have to make the vanilla sponge cake, and then, I have to make the coffe syrup (yes, its a tiramisu cake!!), and then, I have to make the cream filling (beat cream cheese, double cream, egg yolk, etc), and then I have to make the caramilised (did i spell this right??) almonds, and then crush the caramilised almonds (to be sprinkled on top of the cake), and then I have to make the chocolate shavings (part of the filling and also for side decorations of the cake), and then I have to whip cream to coat the whole assembled cake. See what I mean?? Anyway, everyone seems to like the cake :-) pheww..
p/s: the pics is not that clear cuz they were taken from a mobile phone and not from my old trusty cannon :-(
